Do I need prior kayaking or paddleboarding experience?
Not at all! Most of our visitors are first-timers. For rentals, we provide a quick shore-side orientation. For guided tours, our certified instructors will stay with you the entire time to ensure you are comfortable and safe.
Is equipment included in the price?
Yes. Whether you rent or take a tour, your booking includes the kayak/paddleboard, a paddle, a Coast Guard-approved PFD (life vest), and safety instructions. We also include roof racks and straps for rental pickups!
Can I bring my dog?
We love paddle pups! Dogs are welcome on our rentals (we recommend hardboards for durability). However, for the safety of the group and wildlife, dogs are generally not permitted on guided tours. Please ask our shop for dog-friendly rental advice.
What is the best time of year to go?
We operate year-round! Spring (March-May) offers wildflowers and mild temps. Summer (June-Aug) is perfect for swimming, but we recommend our Sunrise or Sunset sessions to beat the heat. Fall and Winter are peaceful with fewer crowds.
Do you offer transportation?
For Rentals: You will pick up gear at our Tempe shop and drive it to the lake yourself.
For Guided Tours: We meet you directly at the launch site, or we can arrange transportation for large corporate groups staying in Scottsdale/Phoenix.
