Decommissioning Requirement for Warranty Replacements

For kayaks, coolers, and kennels being replaced under warranty, Jackson Kayak (JK) must receive evidence of decommissioning as the final step in the process. Do not dispose of your kayak, cooler, or kennel until decommissioning has been confirmed by JK.

For decommissioning, please drill a minimum of ten (10) ½-inch sized holes in the bottom, down the length of the hull, cooler, or kennel and send a picture to warranty@jacksonkayak.com.

Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not cover:

Any problems resulting from abuse, misuse, commercial use, or ordinary wear (such as abrasions, chipping, or color fading)
Failure to use or care for the Jackson product in accordance with furnished instructions
Products sold “as is” or without warranty
Jackson products that have been altered structurally
Products subjected to stresses beyond the physical limits of the boat’s material
Damage to the tracks or hull from aftermarket outrigger or wheel systems such as the Boonedox Landing Gear

Jackson Kayak does not endorse the use of aftermarket outrigger or wheel systems on their kayaks. Install at your own risk.

Warranty Start Date

Warranty is based on the date sold, not the date built, with the exception of boats bought as “demos.” The warranty on demo boats starts on the date they ship from the factory.

Product Types and Coverage

Products sold as “Select” or “Blems” are covered under this warranty.
Products sold as “seconds,” as well as used or resold kayaks, are not covered.
All hull-only options will not include a new warranty, but will transfer the warranty terms from the original purchase.

Non-Transferable & Proof of Purchase

All warranties are non-transferable. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.

Limitation of Warranty and Damages

This warranty is the exclusive statement of your rights with respect to any defects in the Jackson product you have purchased, and this limited warranty supersedes any other express warranty or statement, written or oral, made in connection with your purchase.

This warranty excludes any consequential or incidental damages or expenses resulting from any defect in your Jackson product. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

Personal Items

Jackson Kayak is not responsible for personal items not included as part of the Jackson product, e.g., rods, accessories not included with the boat, cell phones, etc.

Warehouse Pickups

For warehouse pickups, a 48-hour notice is required to notify staff before picking up your replacement hull.

Watercraft Purchased From September 1st, 2021 and After

Kayak Hull Warranty

First Year of Warranty: We’ll replace or repair the kayak for free, free shipping. (Fishing and exploration models exclude seats and drives.)
Second Year of Warranty: Jackson Kayak will replace it with full build at 70% off retail, plus shipping. (Fishing and exploration models exclude seats and drives.)
Third Year of Warranty: Jackson Kayak will replace it with full build at 50% of MSRP, plus shipping. (Fishing and exploration models exclude seats and drives.)

Flex Drive Unit

The Jackson Flex Drive unit is covered by a full two-year manufacturer warranty.

Components

Jackson Kayak does not warranty third party products. For warranty information on those products, please contact their manufacturer directly.

Other Product Outfitting Components

First Year of Warranty: Free replacement, plus shipping.
Second Year of Warranty: Replacement at 70% off current MSRP, plus shipping.

Who is this warranty for?

This warranty is for the original retail purchaser.

How long does this warranty last?

Boats & Kayaks

The warranty lasts for three (3) years from the original date of purchase of the Jackson product from an authorized dealer.

Orion Coolers

Coolers purchased from September 1st, 2023 and after: Limited ten (5) year warranty from the original date of purchase and is non-transferable. (Proof of purchase required.)

Orion Kennels

Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Any implied warranties under applicable state law are limited to the duration of this limited warranty. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

What costs will I be responsible for?

For a covered warranty repair or replacement, you will be responsible for paying the applicable percentage of MSRP (as noted above), as well as all shipping costs to and from our manufacturing facility or such other place as we may designate.

How do I obtain warranty service?

Please note that you will need your proof of purchase as the original consumer purchaser to submit a warranty claim, if you are the original owner. To make a claim, please use the online warranty submission form below.

If you are not able to submit the form at https://jacksonkayak.com/warranty/, please call us at (931) 738-4800. We may require that you provide photos or return the product to us at your cost.

Where does this warranty apply?

This warranty applies to USA and Canada purchases only. Jackson’s international warranties are handled directly through our overseas distributor and dealer networks. Their warranties may vary from ours; check with your local dealer for more information.

Decommissioning Defective Products

If your product is deemed defective and is to be replaced under warranty, we ask that you decommission the product by:

Drilling a minimum of 10 half-inch sized holes in the bottom, down the length of the hull/cooler/kennel.
Sending a picture of the decommissioned product to warranty@jacksonkayak.com.

This is only for liability purposes and to ensure the safety of all future Jackson product owners. Once we receive confirmation that your product has been destroyed, your replacement will ship out.
